Highlights of the new range

For its 2024 launch, Elddis has given all models, campervans and coachbuilts, new exterior decals that define the brand.

All of the coachbuilts in the range have Lamilux Sunsation GRP sides (white gloss for Autoquest and Rembrandt silver for Accordo and Encore), with UV-resistant properties for easier maintenance and longer-lasting shine.

There is an array of further updates, too, including Dometic Midi Heki rooflights that now come with a ratchet crank-style lifting mechanism rather than a push-up type for ease of use. New Isofix seat frames are fitted in Autoquest 196, Accordo 135, Autoquest CV40 and CV80, too.

The Accordo and Autoquest have Senseki upholstery, while Encore gets a Cheri fabric scheme paired with dark wood furniture. What's more, full-size spare wheels are an option on most models, excluding campervans and the Autoquest 196.

Encore models get a new mirror in the washroom with LED lights built into the surrounding frame and a new digital control panel, allowing wireless and WiFi compatibility with apps.

The Fiat-based campervan line-up from British firm, Elddis, now includes four models, all 6m long – a rear lounge CV20, a twin lounge CV40, the side sofa/bed CV60 and this, the CV80 with a pop-top.

What’s great here is that, even with both beds deployed, the front lounge is still usable. That’s because there’s a large double bed in the roof, measuring 4ft 8in wide by 7ft long. The rear lounge also converts to a double bed.

That front lounge, which incorporates the two cab seats once swivelled and a forward-facing bench, means that four can travel, all in three-point belts. There’s even Isofix on the bench in the front lounge, for securing child seats, new for this season.

The table in the front lounge has an extension that pivots out. Usefully, this table is removable to create more relaxing space.

As can be expected from a British campervan, the kitchen facilities are comprehensive. The Thetford Triplex cooker has three gas burners, an oven and grill.

There’s also an 87-litre fridge/freezer set at eye level, a large round sink with a cover that can double as a chopping board and a worktop extension for veg prep if both the hob and sink are in use.

Opposite this space is the washroom, an all-in-one affair. The counter-mounted basin is stylish and practical, while the smart wall-mounted tap doubles as the showerhead with a retractable hose.

You also get the CompleteHeat system designed for Elddis by Whale – it offers 4.7kW of heating powered by gas and/or electric and there’s a quiet night-time setting.

As with all campervan models, the 2.3-litre, 140bhp engine with manual transmission is standard but you can opt for the same engine with automatic gearbox, or the larger 180bhp engine that is only available with automatic.

The standard camper comes in white with new Elddis graphics for 2024, but you can also opt for the grey exterior, along with a list of other upgrades, including a tracking system, cab blinds, microwave, bike rack, on-board WiFi and more.

This unassuming low-profile – it’s only 2.87m tall on the road – hides a family-friendly layout inside. There’s belts and berths for six people, more than practical for the average family of four and even enough space if your kids each want to bring a friend on holiday. In fact, the forward-facing seats in the front lounge have Isofix fittings. There are two further three-point belts on the rear-facing seats as well as two cab seats.

What about sleeping, though? Well, the front lounge makes into a small double, while the second larger double drops down from the ceiling at the push of a button. There’s a further double made up from the rear lounge. The washroom and kitchen lie between these two spaces – concertina room dividers close off this central space at night, providing privacy for both sleeping areas.

The only decision to be made now is who sleeps where…

Encore is Elddis’ upper-class range, offering four models – choose between an island bed, French corner bed or fixed singles with an end washroom, or there’s this purely-for-two 295 with a rear lounge.

The cab seats swivel to create an extra on-site seating area – particularly useful if one of you likes to be early to bed or have the occasional lie-in. When you step on board there’s also a large wardrobe to the left with twin rails – handy for clothes and outdoor gear.

The washroom offers a separate shower and the chromed radiator indicates the fitting of domestic-style central heating – that Alde boiler is part of the standard kit list and the design of the rear lounge allows warm air to distribute evenly.

The kitchen doesn’t want for anything, either, with a cooker that has three gas burners, an electric hotplate, an oven and a grill. The tall fridge-freezer offers 133 litres of cooling space.
