Dethleffs Trend range overview

The Dethleffs motorhome range is certainly comprehensive, ranging from compact Globebus and entry-level Just Camp (Fiat) and Just Go (Ford) up to tag-axle luxury in the form of Alpa and Globetrotter XL I and the even bigger Iveco-based Globetrotter XXL A. There are overcabs, low-profiles and A-classes from 5.98m to 8.84m, in the middle of which sits the company’s top seller, the Trend.

The Trend line-up comes in both low-profile and A-class body types, with the same six layouts offered in each. These are three-and-a-half-tonne motorhomes as standard, so can be driven on a standard car licence. The base vehicle throughout is a low-frame Fiat Ducato.

New for 2025

Updated for 2025, the latest Trend models come with an overcab sunroof (on low-profiles), a driver’s door (A-classes), garage doors on both sides, lightweight GRP rear leaf spring suspension for improved ride comfort, a 70cm-wide habitation door, Lifetime-Smart body construction with a wood-free, GRP-clad underfloor, side walls and roof of robust, hail-resistant GRP and a dynamically shaped rear panel with automotive ShapeLine LED tail lights.

These motorhomes also come with SleepWell seven-zone mattresses on ergonomic wooden bed frames, 95Ah AGM leisure batteries and AirPlus, a system that provides optimal ventilation around the top cupboards to avoid condensation.

In the living area, a key option is the optional Light Moments ambient lighting, which extends into the overcab area of low-profile models (where a sunroof is fitted as standard).

A-class versions feel even more spacious with their large windscreen and panoramic skylight above the lounge, while a drop-down bed in the cab is provided. Each type boasts interior headroom of 2.05m, clean lines for the cabinets and a cosy dark grey ceiling.

Lounges include layouts with side settees or half-dinettes, while the Family Package comes with L-shaped seating on some models.

Sleeping well is a crucial aspect of motorhome living, so the Trend comes with 150mm-thick premium cold foam mattresses with a climate-regulating material, mounted on wooden slatted bed frames.

Storage nets cater for glasses, phones, etc, in each bedroom and USB ports are conveniently alongside. Low-profile models can also be equipped with a drop-down bed for two extra berths.

Washrooms include backlit shower fittings as part of the Light Moments system and a hanging rail is provided for wet clothes. In layouts with a central en suite the ablutions can be closed from the front of the vehicle via the toilet door, while a sliding door separates this zone from the bedroom.

Mirrored bathroom cabinets include elasticated straps to keep their contents in place, while a washroom window can be added as an option.

In the kitchen, the Trend has a sink cover that reverses to become a chopping board and the smooth splashback is easy to clean and incorporates a spice rack.

There’s room for a coffee machine, too, while the Multiflex system can be enhanced with extra hooks or a kitchen roll holder from the Dethleffs accessory catalogue. The fridge/freezer is a 137-litre unit with automatic energy selection.
