Camper fetches ‘pukka’ price
The 1959, 23-window Samba Deluxe featured in the Great Italian Escape TV programme in 2005.
It fetched more than £47,000 at a sale hosted by car auctioneers COYS and held at Brands Hatch.
The vehicle was kitted out with satellite navigation, a games console, two televisions and audio equipment worth about £10,000.
A COYS spokesman said: “This is any Volkswagen Camper van enthusiasts’ dream.”
