Elddis Whirlwind GTV
With a competitive starting price and a comprehensive spec, the new Whirlwind campervan from Elddis, delivers a value-for-money package. It is available in three sizes – 5.4m, 6m or 6.4m – all with the option of a fixed roof or a pop-top. Prices for the Peugeot Boxer-based campervans start at £57,690 on the road for the 6m manual (560), with an impressive spec list included as standard.
It includes alloy wheels, a Thule roll-out awning, a DAB digital multimedia pack and reversing camera, steering wheel controls and a compressor fridge/freezer. The kitchen unit features a two-burner gas hob and a built-in oven.
Also included in the price is a solar panel, USB, storage for two gas bottles, a 100-litre water tank, a 90-litre waste tank and a table extension.
In fact, the only optional extras available are upgrading to an automatic and opting for a pop-top instead of a fixed roof.
The 5.4m model (554) is only available as an automatic (£58,690), with the other sizes being manual as standard with a 140hp automatic option at £3,246 on top of the RRP. The 6.4m (563) is £59,690 as standard. All models come in Metallic Grey with Whirlwind GTV branding and livery.
The Whirlwind sleeps three, with a double bed at the back and an additional single bed in the seating area. Choosing the pop-top version will create two more berths.
Below the rear beds is a generous garage storage area. The beds can be folded up to allow you to carry taller items such as bikes in the back.
Heating comes from the Truma Combi 4 gas system, with a 10-litre water tank to provide the campervan’s hot water supply. With this system, in the summer, the water can be heated independently of the space heater.
Key features
- Thetford oven and 90-litre fridge
- Rear fixed beds
- Three layouts, all with pop-top option

There are nine different models in the Whirlwind GT range, encompassing everything from compact (six-metre versions) to six-berth motorhomes, via fixed bed motorhomes (island, single or French beds). The family-friendly 196 model is also available as a 196+ with upgraded 3,650kg chassis – all other models are suitable for car licence holders, thanks to a 3,500kg maximum weight.

Elddis Avalon
The Avalon is the flagship of the Elddis range and was the first to receive the company’s new look and its new Zip System construction, which increases strength and reliability with a marine-grade anodised aluminium frame and HaloTec one-piece panels.
Avalon is instantly recognisable with its huge frameless overcab sunroof and stylish one-piece ABS rear panel with integrated bike rack and reversing camera fittings. Inside, it benefits from Alde’s gas/electric ‘wet’ central heating system with automotive-standard glycol coolant. All models also receive a solar panel, USB ports and an Omnivent.
Choose from four models, all available on a 3,500kg chassis. Go for an Avalon Evolve for an additional £4,000 and you get more spec, including habitation air-conditioning, an alarm, tracker and on-board WiFi. An automatic gearbox is also optional (with a 140hp or 180hp motor), while the standard white cab can be swapped for grey or black.
