Bürstner's New Flagship Signature Range

News

Bürstner made the headlines with an all-new 2026 range, the flagship of which is the Signature low-profile – a vehicle with truly premium features, a vast array of personalisation options and more than a hint of the innovative design previously seen in Niesmann + Bischoff motorhomes at considerably higher prices.

Perhaps that’s no surprise with the company’s CEO having arrived from that sister Erwin Hymer Group marque…

Peter has reviewed everything from the smallest micro-camper to the biggest Liner-type A-classes you can drive on a C1 licence, and driven motorhomes all over the world.

Four models

Based on the Fiat Ducato (140hp automatic), the Signature offers two layouts – twin singles in 7.17m-long SFT 7.0 and SFT 7.1 (which gains a drop-down bed over the lounge) and a lengthways (but not truly island) double in the longer SFT 7.4 and SFT 7.5 (again, with the extra berths).

Both layouts have a face-to-face lounge, while those requiring rear travel seats can order a swivelling bench seat that turns to face forwards (Isofix can then be added, too).

Choosing the floorplan is just the start, with base vehicle options including an upgrade to the Maxi chassis with 180hp motor, as well as 3,650kg or 4,250kg gross weights to enhance the payload.

Lots of choice

The body comes in white as standard, with an all-over Expedition Grey finish also available. Then there are five graphics schemes and five coordinating mirror caps.

Steel wheels are, surprisingly, the standard offering but alloys can be 16in or 18in. All models have a garage, to which you can add a bike rack, external shower, 230V socket, second loading door and shelving system. Rear corner steadies or even hydraulic levelling jacks are factory-fitted extras but you’ll surely want to budget for the panoramic roof and additional rooflights.

Personalisation doesn’t stop when you go inside. There are eight settee base cushions to choose from (four colours in fabric, four in leather) and 14 different backrest cushions to coordinate or contrast.

The variety continues with five shades for the bedroom’s headboard, before you select your furniture – Jura (light) or Earth (dark) for the body of the cabinets, then oak, pine or walnut for the doors and table.

Options packs

The Comfort Package Midi adds fabric wall panelling, cab blinds, a felt sliding door for the bedroom, central locking and a flyscreen on the habitation door, Comfort mattress with Froli springs, framed windows and ambient lighting.

Those with a gastronomic mindset will be tempted by the Premium Kitchen Package with a 138-litre drawer fridge, pull-out worktop extension, mineral worktop and an electrically rising shelving unit with indirect lighting.

The Technology & Design Package is all about cab spec – a leather steering wheel with radio controls, wireless phone charging, digital dashboard and automatic air-conditioning.

Then there are various Multimedia Packages (with or without a satellite dish), featuring a 9in touchscreen in the cab (including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and reversing camera) and a 32in TV in the lounge. The Winter Package completes your all-season touring kit with heated cab seats and Alde heating with a heat exchanger.

More options

There are individual options, too, under the banner of ‘installation and technology’.

An external barbecue point, 50-litre gas tank, solar panels (two 110W), inverter, lithium battery (150Ah), 5G WiFi router, bedroom telly and electric element for the Truma Combi 6 blown-air heating (gas only as standard) are expected features, but the heated floor in the cab, electric waste water emptying valve (even with a camera for precise positioning over the drain!) and a waterless Clesana toilet are less commonly seen – although very desirable add-ons.

However you spec your Signature, it’s likely to be very personal to your style and needs, while the model has a distinct contemporary vibe inside and out. The flat floor is a plus, as is the clever sliding wall in the washroom.

We’re less taken with the bedroom format of the double bed layout and the hob cover that slides out, blocking access to the bedroom. With all those options on offer, you can also ignore the £76k starting price; something around £100k is more realistic…
