Auto-Trail launches new Imala motorhomes

Auto-Trail has been producing motorhomes and campervans for over 40 years.

Previously it was converting campervans for other brands in the Trigano Group, which it has been part of since 1999, but now says that demand is so high, it's only now building Auto-Trail branded products, with over 50% of production devoted to these conversions.

However, that still means a significant proportion is still motorhomes, so this year there is a whole new range as well as numerous detail changes across the board.

Across the board…

The most significant news of note is that Auto-Trail will hold its prices for 2026. All ranges now also have a new carpet in a standard grey colour. All coachbuilt models will also come with a 95Ah AGM battery as standard and a three-stage charging unit. You can also order an optional 100Ah lithium battery with Bluetooth monitor.

Auto-Trail will also offer the addition of M-Level, a fully automated hydraulic levelling system to all models. M-Level comes with both automatic and manual levelling options and a relevelling function and a manual safety pump override should a battery fault develop.

Extensive changes to Imala range

Auto-Trail has made significant changes to the Imala range, consisting of four motorhomes. The Imala 615 starts at £73,455 while all other models in the range, the 730, 736 and 746 G models, are all priced at £78,551.

The range as a whole features a new low-profile exterior with a Panoroof constructed on lightweight chassis, accompanied by new aluminium-framed Polyvision windows. Externally there are new rear light clusters and revised graphics.

In the washroom, there's a new rectangular washbasin and black tap combination with an oval mirror above. To the left, above the toilet, storage has been increased with a cabinet on the wall.

All kitchens in Imala models are now fitted with new a new splashback and a new Thetford three-way fridge with a capacity of 142 litres.

All cabinets and drawers have been updated to feature black push buttons and soft-close fixings. The cream upholstery, ceiling and overhead cabinets contrast with the all-new ‘San Marco’ wood colouring, which is seen throughout many Auto-Trail motorhomes for 2026.

An improved lighter chassis is of particular benefit on the 730 compared to the other models in the Imala range. The lighter design means that, unlike previous models, a half-dinette with two extra travel seats is an option available at 3,500kg, meaning it can be a proper four-berth driven on a standard car (B) licence.

What’s new in the Excel and F-Line?

The Ford-based Excel and F-Line models are where we see the fewest changes. Just like elsewhere in the line-up, the Excel range comes with the new ‘San Marco’ wood colour complementing the grey worktops, and contrasting cream drawers and seating upholstery. Also like elsewhere, you can find new black push-button catches, too, and with a new Thule bike rack now a cost option, too. For extra sleeping berths, a pop-top remains an option on the Excel 620G and 690T.

Changes to the Frontier and Grande Frontier ranges

The Frontier coachbuilt and Grande Frontier A-class models have also seen some minor changes. The Frontier Delaware and Grande Frontier GF-80 now have wireless charging in rear bedrooms and aesthetic improvements including a faux leather upholstery with indigo accents, a new design of quilted backrests and cab seats, and new wall panels. In the washroom you’ll find new stone-effect panelling in the shower.

The Delaware and Comanche models get an increased height to the quilted headboard as well as improved drawer storage under the bed.

What’s new about the Expedition motorhome range?

There's a host of detail changes for this overcab motorhome range. The luton overcab bed has an improved design with sturdier hinges.

The interiors have been tweaked with a new kitchen splashback with a hexagonal pattern to match the quilted seats. As with many other models in the range, there are also black push-button catches and soft closing upper cabinets.

Additional extras include a reversing camera with 9in screen, and a new 21.5in Avtex Smart TV.
