Access WiFi in your motorhome from further away

It can be annoying finding the perfect pitch at a campsite only to discover that you are right on the edge of WiFi reception. That’s the problem that Yorkshire based Solwise is seeking to address with the new Patriot USB aerial and USB WiFi Repeater. The antenna receives the campsite WiFi signal and sends this inside your motorhome with a USB connector that plugs straight into a laptop. The Solwise Patriot-USB is a long range, wireless 802.11b/g/n outdoor USB CPE with 5m of USB cable. It features weatherproof casing and can work at speeds up to 150Mbps. The Patriot-USB includes a convenient utility for scanning available networks and saving preferred networks. Security encryption can also be configured by this utility.

If you’re more the iPad and tablet generation, rather than laptop, then a USB connection might not be that useful. However, this is where the Solwise USB WiFi repeater comes in. This supports outdoor USB adapters to repeat the WiFi signal to any indoor environment.  Simply plug the USB lead from the Patriot into the WiFi repeater to create a mini WiFi hotspot in your motorhome. You can then connect to it with all your mobile devices.

By using this kit from Solwise you may even be able to use free WiFi hotspots that would be otherwise out of range. The WL-Patriot USB costs £33.11 including postage while the WL-USB WiFi Repeater is £47.75 including postage.
