E-Go Lite electric bike

Review in brief

The original E-go was not designed with city-goers in mind, it was actually primarily focused at boat owners, creating something lightweight and compact enough to be lifted on and off a floating home. So it's suitable for motorhomes as well.

  • Light weight
  • Great price
  • Three colours available: red, white and black
  • Accessories available
  • Battery incorporated into seat post, which can be removed for charging or charged in situ

About E-go

The idea for e-go electric folding bikes and foldable electric scooters was actually born out of the need to find the smallest, lightest and most compact foldable electric bikes and scooters to stow away on a boat, the freedom to move around and explore new locations by boat was great but wouldn't it be fantastic if that freedom could be extended, once on dry land? After having purchased two bikes for the purpose, they turned out too be far to heavy and cumbersome and, after some extensive research, a folding bike was found to perfectly fit the brief. Over the course of the next six months and several revisions the e-go lite was born.

About the E-go electric bike

Six months after the launch of the standard model, the Lite was introduced:

• Battery and options

It's got 230Wh of battery as standard. That delivers up to around 30 miles of range, depending on several factors. If you need a little more power, though, you can specify the 7Ah Samsung battery instead of the standard 6.4Ah one.

• Compact and folding

The folding mechanism allows the bike to fold up to 82cm by 37cm by 68cm, enabled by those 16in wheels.

• Well-equipped as standard

As standard you get front and rear mudguards and lights, disc brakes, a bell and reflectors. You can also specify various other options including a rear rack and pannier, a chunkier seat and there is also a two-bike bundle available.

• More models in the range

There are bigger versions in the range, if you have a little more space from the 20in wheeled Lite+ to the 25kg Max+ which has 20in by 4.25in chunky tyres.
