Best Compact Motorhome 2026

Giottiline Compact CX60

There’s nothing new about the concept of a six-metre low-profile motorhome with a half-dinette lounge and a transverse fixed double bed over a garage, but Giottiline has produced a fine example of the breed at a very tempting price.

Despite the optional extras fitted to this show model – an electric drop-down single bed over the lounge, a kit to turn the dinette into another berth, an oven and Truma diesel/electric heating – the little Italian still stays under £66k, which almost seems like a misprint these days.

That even includes the Privilege Pack, encompassing a colour-coded front bumper with integral fog lamps, a 9in touchscreen radio with steering wheel-mounted controls and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an HD rear camera, a wide entrance door with window and central locking, a Maxi Skyview rooflight, matching cab seat covers and LED tail lights.

There are other pleasant surprises when assessing the spec as the Fiat cab comes with the automatic gearbox, 16in alloy wheels and start/ stop. Standard habitation features also go beyond the bare essentials, with a heated waste water tank, flush-fitting habitation windows, Isofix, removable carpets and pleated cab blinds.

Giottiline is taking a class win for the first time in our awards and, if you’re not familiar with the brand, it’s another Rapido Group company but based in Italy rather than France. It has four UK dealers, plus another in the Irish Republic.

The CX60 is a new model in a revised Compact range this season and it’s amongst the smallest fixed bed motorhomes available at only 5.99m long and 2.15m wide. Being piccolo also helps with the payload, which is a generous 783kg so you can make good use of the rear garage.

Above that hold, the transverse double bed (measuring 2.01m by 1.32m) is provided with a pair of neat, folding steps that are so much better than a ladder, while the position of bedroom cupboards only on the rear wall means you can sit up against the offside. A window on the nearside and a roof vent ensure good ventilation. The galley is necessarily in keeping with the model name here but it doesn’t miss out on features.

The oven is positioned sensibly and a sink cover and extension flap provide worktop space. The fridge is a 140-litre compressor model and there’s good drawer-based storage. Likewise, the washroom makes good use of space with its swing-wall shower arrangement. There’s even a little shelf for your shampoo, plus a drying rail for wet coats. All this and a nice quality of finish, too.

Bürstner B66 594 TD

With proven designs and great-value price tags, Bürstner’s B66 range featured highly in a number of categories this year.

This is the baby of the B66 motorhome range, although you could convince yourself otherwise because it doesn’t feel like a sub-six-metre model. It’s the same high-spec package as with the larger layouts and the front lounge and end washroom belie the size of this motorhome.

Even more impressive is the drop-down bed which can be extended into the cab for lengthways sleeping (and thus easier access without disturbing your partner).

Pilote Atlas A630G

Highly commended

Pilote Atlas A630G

Sister model to the winner of the Best Fixed Single Bed Motorhome category for 2026, the Atlas A630G is broadly similar to the A690GJ but with a transverse bed above the garage.

That bedroom format allows this to be one of the French maker’s smallest models, at just 6.30m long and 2.20m wide.

Actually, the bedroom is a star feature, with plenty of room to sit up against the headboard on the offside wall and a window in the rear. With a well-placed oven in the galley, an open-plan lounge and a neat swing-wall washroom, this stylish Pilote has a lot to offer.
