Essential Guide to 2021 motorhomes – Elddis motorhomes and campervans

Elddis Autoquest 150 motorhome

The Elddis Autoquest range is hugely popular with buyers thanks to its high standard specification and quality construction, affordable pricing and Peugeot base vehicle.

For 2021, the Autoquest retains a choice of six layouts but, for this year, the 175 – a two-berth model with a large rear washroom – is replaced by the all-new 150.

This 7.34m-long Autoquest 150 has a similar layout to the current, but more expensive, Encore 250 with a front lounge with twin side-facing sofas, a fully equipped central nearside galley, an offside washroom and a lengthways island bed in the rear.

While it is perfect for a couple who enjoy the comfort of a luxury front lounge and an always-ready, domestic-style double bed, this Autoquest 150 has a trick up its sleeve as the front lounge hides a pair of foldaway Aguti travel seats.

These additional travel seats make this new 150 a practical family motorhome with four travel seats and four berths (the other two beds are made up from the front sofas, as either two singles or a large double).

At night-time, a concertina screen provides privacy for the occupants of the rear island bed, which has a folding infill section at the head of the mattress and a sliding base to increase walkaround space in the daytime.

The kitchen, as you’d expect from a British coachbuilt, has all the equipment a chef would desire, including a Thetford cooker with a triple gas hob and a separate oven and grill, plus a Dometic tall/slim fridge with 139-litre capacity and masses of storage both above and below the worktop.

SPECIFICATION

Price from £48,369
Base vehicle Peugeot Boxer 140bhp
Layout Rear island bed
Berths 4
Travel seats 4
Length 7.34m
Gross weight 3,500kg
Payload 591kg

Elddis Encore 285 motorhome

The Encore 285, like all Encores, is based on the 140bhp Fiat Ducato (manual as standard with 140bhp and 160bhp automatic options), and has the most on-trend layout: a front lounge with twin side-facing sofas (which conceal two Aguti travel seats with Isofix below) and rear twin single beds.

There is also a huge across-the-rear washroom with separate shower and masses of extra storage. The fully equipped galley is centrally located opposite the habitation door.

All Encores have Alde’s 3020 heating system and, for 2021, a range of enhancements including extended kitchen worktops, a new oven and grill, a new Arabesque upholstery scheme (protected by ActivCare), new exterior graphics and new LED lighting.

Leather upholstery option also available, as shown here.

SPECIFICATION

Price from £56,169
Base vehicle Fiat Ducato 140bhp Euro 6d
Layout Rear twin beds
Berths 4
Travel seats 4
Length 7.40m
Gross weight 3,500kg
Payload 460kg

Autoquest CV80 campervan

The new CV80 is a four-berth, four-seatbelt campervan.

As with its CV siblings, it is based on the Fiat Ducato (manual as standard with 140bhp and 160bhp automatic options) but this model features an all-new pop-top roof made using the latest Long Fibre Injection (LFI) moulding technology, making it light and structurally rigid.

This roof houses a large double bed (2.10m by 1.44m) and has a flyscreen section at the front (with zipped cover) for ventilation, as well as a reading light and a Midi Heki rooflight.

In the main living area there is a front half-dinette with removable table, a central galley featuring a three-burner hob and combined oven/grill and a 90-litre fridge.

The washroom, with a shower and cassette toilet, is opposite and, at the rear, is a lounge, which converts into berths three and four.

SPECIFICATION

Price from £47,669
Base vehicle Fiat Ducato 140bhp Euro 6d
Layout Pop-top campervan
Berths 4
Travel seats 4
Length 5.99m
Gross weight 3,500kg
