Essential Guide to 2020 motorhomes - Swift motorhomes
Swift Edge 486 motorhome
Designed to inspire generations, the all-new Swift Edge is an ideal first motorhome. With a Euro 6 engine, the range has five models, providing a choice of two, four and six berths, and all standard models can be driven on a Category B licence.
Edge’s aerodynamic exterior profile with funky orange mountain graphics scheme creates a distinctive appearance, with the three high-line models incorporating an overcab bed. Thanks to a great specification and plenty of room, this is a standout home from home with hard-wearing materials and generous storage.
LED lighting throughout offers a bright, welcoming ambience, and the ‘Vitatta’ soft furnishings deliver a timeless look. For preparing meals together, the fully equipped kitchen offers plenty of work surfaces, with a foldaway extension and high-quality appliances. Meanwhile, the washroom has all the essentials, including a vanity unit, sink, toilet and shower.
Inside the cab, there are a host of convenient features, from a USB point to integrated factory-fit radio/MP3 player with Bluetooth. The adjustable captain’s chairs have fully upholstered covers and swivel function, so they can double up as lounge seating (no swivel function on 476/486).
Keeping everyone cosy is Truma’s dual- fuel blown-air heating system, and for added convenience there is a 100-litre internal fresh water tank (90 litre on 412), a 60-litre waste water tank with level sensor, and an 80Ah leisure battery.
In addition, the Swift Command panel and smartphone app is also on hand for monitoring many on-board functions, either in the motorhome or remotely.
Edge is also pre-installed with Swift Command Tracker, a Thatcham Category S7 approved proactive tracker with subscription option to provide extra security and potential insurance discounts*.
For further peace of mind, the range is built with Swift’s market-leading SMART construction, including a full GRP bodyshell and hail-resistant exterior GRP roof.
Upgrade options are available, including a Living Pack, Winter Pack, and Drivers Pack.
*Dependent on insurer, subject to annual subscription.
