The inside story of Turners Parks Group

The experience of two couples exemplifies what Turners Parks Group, one of the biggest collection of residential estates in the UK, is all about.

Both Jean and Paul Hubbard and her brother Brian Payne and his wife Patricia are retired. Both were cash purchasers looking to buy brand-new park homes. Both took advantage of Turners Parks Group’s part-exchange scheme. Both were attracted to the park-home lifestyle by the benefits it offers. Both recognise the shared values and security of a ‘gated-community’ plus the value for money compared with buying bricks ’n’ mortar.

Perhaps most importantly, both couples are satisfied customers. Their experience puts flesh on to what has become Turners Parks Group’s mission statement: to provide quality park homes on quality parks for couples approaching or in retirement.

Last year, the group decided to consolidate their parks business. Its story dates back to 1945. That was when Regency parks first came into being.

What triggered it is that a few years ago a new player arrived on the park and holiday home scene. Paul Day is a grandson of Wallace Turner of Soham, Cambridgeshire. You may never have heard of him, either. But you are certainly familiar with his business because it is his trucks that keep your local Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s supermarkets stocked up.

The driving force behind Turners (Soham) Ltd these days is Paul. But haulage doesn’t take up all of his time. And looking around for other business opportunities a few years ago, Paul came across park homes.

Recognising their potential, he started investing in residential park home estates. The rest is history…
