This rear-bedroom layout has established its popularity in Coachman’s Acadia range. Now, buyers have the choice of an Acadia or a VIP, which has more spec, including an Omnivent extractor fan, more lighting, and an Al-Ko Secure wheel lock.

The kitchen spreads across both sides of the caravan, with the under-counter fridge and oven on the offside, along with a central cabinet and drawer. Opposite is a cabinet with surface above. A hinged extension to the main surface area on the offside ensures there’s plenty of prep space. A strip of light runs under the top locker and microwave units. The kitchen splashback is brown marble-effect. An extractor fan is standard together with an alarm system. Like the Acadia, VIPs have Alde heating.

A wireless charging pad sits on the windowsill.

Unusually, the shower in the 545 is roughly triangular in shape, and with a very domestic-style brown marble-effect panel on one wall. It matches the kitchen splashback. The shower door is hinged a few centimetres inwards from the edge of the frame, which means that, when it’s open, it intrudes less into the shower room than if the hinge had been in the corner. A simple but clever design.

The basin sits atop its cabinet, backing onto the wall that divides the shower room from the bedroom. Two sliding doors, one in each side of the basin wall, open to the bedroom directly behind the basin. On the bedroom side of this wall are television mounting points and connections.

Two upholstered panels form the bedhead and there are fabric pockets on each side of the bed, each with three apertures where phones and other small objects could go. Phones placed here can be charged from the USB ports that are set into the bases of the reading lights.

A white-finished towel warmer is alongside the shower. Roman blinds in a vaguely geometric pattern are on the washroom and bedroom windows. The same pattern, in white and pale fawn, is used for the curtains in the lounge. Seating upholstery is plain tactile slightly plush light brown fabric. Three cushions, one cream and super-tactile velvety, one yellow boucle and a third that brings together all the fawn shades, plus touches of yellow.
