Description

The idea of introducing a black edition is to bring in new styling designed to create wow factor. Bailey’s new Pegasus Black Edition range has lots of black elements. Small details such as taps, hooks and spotlights combine with larger elements including locker frames. But nowhere in the list of new features is the style more stunning than in the optional fabric scheme for the Pegasus range. It’s called Sierra. The seat bases are dark and the backs are pale.

Full Review

Our First Look Pegasus Black Edition review model is a Portofino, a single-axle model with a rear bedroom and central shower area.

Lounge

Its lounge shows off the Sierra scheme in which black is combined, for the seat bases, with an ultra-pale gold shade. It’s exotic, it’s memorable and – above all – it’s practical. Marks arriving on these seat bases could be sponged off and never leave a trace. What’s more, Bailey tells us that the fabric is ‘pet and child proof’. While the manufacturer tells us that the standard, paler fabric is also ‘pet and child proof’, it’s clear that the darker option is much more so.

Two of the cushions have the black and gold hue. The other two are pale bronze-effect fabric. The side walls are clad in padded panels that reach from the seat backs to the undersides of the top lockers. The pattern combines pale ivory with the same brown shade as two of the cushions, in an arrangement of approximate rectangles. The bolster style armrests are edged in the black and gold fabric, with sides that match the cream of the backrests. Seat-edge piping in cream for the base and black for the backrests draws the whole scheme together.

Kitchen

The introduction of black styling isn’t the only change for 2026. The 2.43m-wide Portofino gets a new kitchen shape for 2026, with an L-shape that increases surface space. The 103-litre fridge is opposite, with more potential kitchen space above it.

Wash and bedroom

The Portofino is one of two models in the range that showcase a new Bailey invention. It’s the rear door of the central shower room, which is now a two-part construction, hinged about two-thirds into its width. When it’s closed across the entrance to the bedroom, it becomes a flat door. When you open it, its top corner tracks across the corridor at an angle to close off the washbasin and toilet compartment, becoming part angled, to maximise on space both in the bedroom and in the toilet room.

Practicality and style integrate on the bedroom side, with the introduction of a floor-to-ceiling black-framed mirror, with shelving almost hidden alongside.
