Full Review

Eriba Touring caravans enjoy an iconic status. Their body shape has remained largely unchanged over generations during which almost every other caravan around them has drastically altered in shape. Yet Eriba remains a constant, a benchmark, one might say, of touring simplicity.

The iconic pop-top design

Characterised by pop-up roofs that give normal head-height, yet a lower towing profile that increases aerodynamic efficiency, they have bow-shaped front lines that, in the 630, creates a large triangular windowsill, into which a USB port and two mains sockets are set.

Modern interior style

And it's here, sitting at the table, that you begin to take in the latest Eriba Touring's statement décor element: black marble-effect with prominent white veins. It clads the deep windowsill, the table and the kitchen surface. Stunning!

It's here, also, that you begin to notice the little things. Two recessed shelves that reach under the windowsill, corner lights that blend into the shape of the lockers that surround the table area and a light, shaped rather like the top of a cone, set into the base of the top lockers. It's mounted on a gimbal and a charging unit is set alongside it. Very neat and very robustly made. In fact, very Eriba in style.

Clever storage solutions

The top lockers in Eriba Touring models are inevitably shallow, because of the pop-up roof design. But what the front two lockers lack in height, they make up for in depth, following the bow shape of the front of the caravan.

The kitchen area

The kitchen provides a three-burner hob plus an oven and separate grill and Dometic's tall, slimline 133-litre fridge. More top lockers are here and an enormous amount of cabinet storage. That's two large cabinets with a drawer above. The amount of surface space is a surprise, too. An area to the right of the hob that's the same size as the hob, plus space on the other side of the hob. The flush-fitting sink cover means that, when the sink is not in use, the whole area becomes prep surface.

Opposite is the wardrobe. It's quite narrow and the hanging space is just jacket-length, but it does have five shelves.

Sleeping and washroom

The excellent storage story goes on into the bed area, in the form of a cabinet alongside the bed and six top lockers. That's in addition to the cavernous space under the bed.

Layout is a fixed double bed at one end, a two-person dining area at the other and the toilet and washbasin room opposite the kitchen. This area contains a bench-style toilet, a copious amount of shelving, a washbasin and two cabinets under the washbasin. Two metal towel rails are set into the door. The mirror slides down to allow the pop-up roof to descend to the level of all of the tops of the cabinetry. The smart black tap doubles as the showerhead; it extends on a long, flexible stalk.

The Touring 630 has a 45-litre fresh water tank. Heating is from the Truma Combi 4 unit.

Colours and accents

Eriba Tourings are available in a choice of colour themes, with the lower sector of the bodywork in colours including silver, Ocean Blue, Tango Red and Nugget Gold.

In our review 630, the interior accent colour is a bright mustard shade, for one side of the bolster-style cushions (the other side has a swirling gold design that catches the light, on a grey background) and the piping on the edges of the upholstery. It's also used for a padded, upholstered panel with a diamond-stitched design on the outside of the toilet compartment.

Our Verdict

The Eriba Touring 630 remains a timeless benchmark, masterfully blending its iconic aerodynamic shell with a bold, modern interior. While the pop-up roof naturally limits vertical storage, the clever use of depth and a surprisingly high-spec kitchen ensure it feels premium rather than cramped. Ultimately, it is a robust, stylish choice for those who value heritage-driven design without sacrificing contemporary luxury.
