New Swift Group caravans for 2017

Six new Swift caravan models arrive, two in the Sprite range, three in the Swift Challenger and Sterling Eccles ranges and a twin axle in the Swift Eegsnce and Sterling Continental ranges.

For 2017, all of the Swift Group’s ranges will be built with GRP sides (more impact-resistant than aluminium). Swift has upgraded its timberless SMART construction system to SMART Plus and rolled it out across all ranges.

SMART construction was first introduced into Swift’s top-echelon ranges. It stands for Strong, Modern, Aerodynamic, Resilient and Testing. Swift defines it like this: “Strong timber-less body frame with Modern desirable looks and a leading Aerodynamic shape that is highly Resilient to moisture, all wrapped up in a caravan that has undergone comprehensive Testing.”

For 2017 this system has been upgraded to feature a new sandwich floor construction with a GRP outer skin providing greater durability from the elements.

And the Swift Command control system, launched for 2016 in flagship ranges, enabling you to control caravan systems from a smartphone, has also been extended to all ranges for 2017.

Swift Command allows you to download an app to tablets and smartphones and remotely take control of your caravan’s function panel, including heating and lighting.

An additional feature for 2017 will be the option to take out a subscription to the pro-active Thatcham 6 tracker system.

And all 2017 models will come with access to Swift’s online customer service portal, called Connect Direct, which gives 24-hour access to information on upgrades, the ability to report faults, receive service notifications, plus live chat with Swift’s team.

Sprite

Two new models are to be introduced. The Sprite Major 4EB will have a rear island bed and central shower-toilet facilities across the width of the caravan. The twin-axle, six-berth Quattro DD will have seating areas in both front and rear, with bunks above the rear rearing and a central offside shower room.

The Sprite Freedom range continues with three six-berth models.

These models get a new look with different woodwork and enhanced lighting including adjustable lounge spotlights, recessed ceiling lights and over-locker lighting. Freedoms now have curtains, replacing the simple fabric window-side panels formerly used.

Sprite’s standard fabrics, using citrus shades continue for 2017. An option will be introduced, in muted shades of grey and gold.

All models will now have single-key locking systems.

Swift Challenger and Sterling Eccles

Three new models are launched. The 560 has a rear island bed and central washroom. Two twin-axle models are announced. The 635 will also have a central washroom; the bed in this model is transversely located, at the rear. The 645 also has a transverse bed, this time with the shower rom across the rear. Both twin-axle models will have the tall slimline Dometic fridge-freezer.

Gas locker doors are now grey; Swift calls the look “carbon fibre”.

New Challenger looks feature grey and beige with bronze and red shades in the curtains and cushions. New pleated blinds are introduced in the Eccles models and larger roof lights arrive.

Eccles furnishings are unchanged for 2017, with hessian-effect fabrics and white locker doors.

A Lux option pack is now available for these ranges. This will include an alarm system with key fob operation, an illuminated kitchen splash back, barbecue point and outside mains socket. Alde heating continues to be an option on both Challenger and Eccles ranges.

Swift Conqueror and Sterling Elite

New cookers are introduced to the Swift Conqueror and Sterling Elite ranges models. These are the Dometic CU600 models which Swift says offer improved cooking times and better cooking uniformity.

These Alde-heated ranges will have new interior furnishings. Conqueror models get tactile suede-effect seating and backrests. Aubergine shades, in a geometric design, are in curtains and cushions, with a metallic silver-effect fabric for one feature cushion.

Sterling Elite models will have beige hessian fabrics in two textures. Plaid-inspired cushions are in taupe and dark plum shades, teamed with plain dark plum cushions. Curtains have a pale gold cross pattern.

Swift Elegance and Sterling Continental

A new twin-axle model is launched in both ranges. The 650 will have a rear island bed and central full-with washroom.

The new tall slimline fridge is introduced to the 480 and 565 models.

All models in both ranges will get rear view cameras.

New furnishing schemes are introduced. Elegance models get mink-shade fabric on backrests and front seat section, with oyster shade for the min seating fabric. Fur-effect cushions are teamed with cushions in black with s silvery grey honeycomb pattern to match the curtains.
