Two new models will join the Coachman Vision line-up. An island-bed Vision 545 has been unveiled and a twin-axle, six-berth Vision 630 will be launched in September. There’s a new model in the twin-axle Coachman Laser range, too; the 675, with a transverse island bed and a full-width rear shower room.

The 545 layout is also introduced for the first time into to the Pastiche range. This is a rear island bed model with its washing facilities centrally located. It’s a layout that first appeared in the higher-spec VIP range two years ago, and proved instantly popular among buyers. The bedroom is a completely separate area. It’s divided from the showering-washing facilities by two sliding doors. These disappear neatly into the wall, sliding towards the centre of the room divider on which the washbasin and mirror are mounted. The shower is on the nearside of the washroom, and the toilet on the offside. You have the option of using either of the sliding doors, creating a corridor on either side, leading to the bedroom.

In all four Coachman ranges, microwaves are now flush-mounted within acrylic surrounds; this replaces top-hinged cabinet doors formerly used.

Models in all ranges get the new Eco Camel Jetstorm Plus shower head, which allows you to choose from three flow rates. A rotating lever on the shower head selects flow rate. All models also get spotlights with touch controls and low-level settings; you can choose to illuminate just the bases of the lights for a subtle effect.

All ranges will have single-key systems.

The size of the the showers in the Pastiche 460 and 520, the Vision 450 and 520 and the Laser 620 is increased.

Vision

Until 2017 Coachman’s only twin-axle caravans have been in the flagship Laser range. The family Coachman Vision 630 will change that when it is launched in September. This twin-axle model will be unveiled at the Lawns Caravan Extravaganza (3 and 4 September) at Cottingham, East Yorkshire.

It will be a six-berth model with a wide offside dining area, and bunks on the offside immediately forward of a full-width shower room.

The second new model in the Vision range, the 545, brings the rear island bed concept into this range for the first time.

Visions have the Truma Combi heating system, and the unit is wired to accept the Truma iNet system which enables you to control your heating remotely from a smartphone.

New furnishings in the Vision range for 2017 are in cream and fawns. The seating fabric is plain and pale, with prominent shiny, light-reflecting threads forming a subtle pattern. The satin-like fawn curtains have a roundel pattern; the design is appropriately called Pebbles. The four scatter cushions have tactile fawn fabric on one side and a plaid-inspired design on the other, meaning that you can change the look of your Vision by turning over the cushions.

Kitchen locker doors get a new shade for 2017; they’re very pale grey, almost white, with a subtle horizontal ridge pattern.

The 545 has five mains power sockets, one of which is mounted above the ledge over the front windows; the ideal place for phone charging. That feature runs through all Vison models.

There are changes to the two-berth Vision 450 and the side dining area layout 520. Both models gain a cabinet alongside the door. It’s within a recess that houses a mirror and shelf, with a mains socket alongside it; that’s in the perfect place for hairdryer use and also for phone charging.

The 450 and 520, which both have rear shower rooms, get a new-style, larger shower door with a pivot set about 10cm into the door frame. The 450 and 520 now have linen laundry bags fitted into the bases; the suspended linen bag is secured at each corner with press studs. The same feature will appear in the new 630.

The Vision 520 gets a larger shower

Pastiche

As well as the new model in the Coachman Pastiche range, the 545, two models have revised layouts. These are the two-berth 460 and side dining area 520. Like the 450 and 520 Visions, these models now have cabinets alongside the doors, in recesses that also feature mirrors. Both these models will have laundry bags in the bases of wardrobes.

The twin-bed 565 Pastiche and VIP models will have a long, rectangular skylight in the bedroom; this is the first skylight of this design to be fitted in a Coachman. The twin beds in these models are now 10cm lower than in previous models, making them the same height as the lounge settees.

Pastiche curtains and cushions have an interesting combination of geometric patterns for 2017. The larger two cushions have raised tactile patterns in three shades of brown,, plus white. The smaller cushions are plain shiny cream fabric with an abstract geometric outlined in fine brown lines.

Like those in the Vision range you can turn the cushions over to change the look of the caravan; the reverse sides are plain pale brown velvet. Armrests are curved, with velvet inserts on the ends that meet up with the central chest of drawers.

New shaped locker doors are slightly angled towards the top.

VIP

The six-model Coachman VIP line-up is unchanged. Slightly curved armrests like those in the Pastiche are introduced into both VIP and Laser models. The fabric scheme for 2017, in both VIPS and Lasers, is a blend of plaid (on two of the cushions), and plain near-white seating with a grey fleck design and satin-sheen.

Laser

A new transverse-island bed Coachman Laser 675 arrives for 2017. Lasers are slightly longer, both in overall and body length, for 2017. The 10cm increase means a slightly more spacious lounge. The overall length will be 7.97 and the internal length 6.31m.

The cabinet and coat hook recess alongside the door, which is introduced in other models, arrives in the Laser 620 with an added benefit. The Alde heating piping runs beneath the coat hanging area, so rain-soaked coats will dry here.

The 620 gets a larger shower, made possible by the 10cm increase in caravan length.
