German caravan manufacturer, Hobby, reveals 2021 models

Hobby Prestige
Hobby Excellent 620 CL

German caravan manufacturer, Hobby, has revealed its new models for the 2021 season.

The main news is the arrival of three new layouts – two in the Excellent model line-up and one new layout in the Prestige range. In addition, all model ranges, from the OnTour to the Prestige, have a new exterior design with simple lines and a modern colour scheme.

In the interior, Hobby’s focus has been on two model ranges: the Excellent and the Prestige, which benefit from a new furniture design and, of course, those three new layouts. Meanwhile, the interior design of the OnTour, Deluxe, Deluxe Edition and Premium model ranges will be continued.

Now for the 2021 season Hobby offers six model ranges, which, between them, offer buyers a choice of 59 different models and 41 different layouts.

The Premium range has five layouts, the OnTour has four layouts, the Deluxe has 18 layouts, the Deluxe Edition has six layouts, the Prestige has 12 and the Excellent has 14 layouts.

But back to those new layouts, the first of which is the Excellent 460 SL. The inspiration for the new layout, which is exclusively available in this model range in the 2021 season, is the popular 460 SFf model with an island bed at the front. However, this three-berth, 1,300kg caravan, which is 6.76m long, sees twin single beds at the front instead of a double.

Centrally located is the lounge with facing sofas and, opposite, is a wardrobe and the fridge/freezer. At the rear is the well-equipped compact kitchen and washroom in the corner.

The next new layout is the Excellent 620 CL, which sees the successful layout from the Prestige range made available in the Excellent. Thanks to the tandem axle, weight of 1,900kg and a length of just eight metres, the caravan is able to easily accommodate a rear C-shaped lounge that is capable of comfortably seating eight people (and which converts into a double bed) with a very large L-shaped kitchen centrally located just in front of the lounge.

The washroom and wardrobe are opposite while, at the front, are twin single beds.

Finally, the last of the new layouts see the Prestige get a version of the 650 UFf layout for the 2021 season. The layout in this 1,900kg caravan has been adapted from the Premium luxury class and features a bedroom with an island bed at the front of the caravan.

At the bed’s foot is a washroom in one corner and a shower cubicle in the other. A partition can be used to create an en suite bedroom and washroom. The side kitchen in centrally located and faces the door and large wardrobe. At the rear of this 8.3m-long caravan is a U-shaped lounge, which converts into a second double bed.

As for the new exterior design, this is typical of Hobby: nordic, simple and modern. The design is still instantly recognisable as Hobby and features a clear-cut design and simple lines. There is also a modern colour scheme, which says Hobby, emphasises its sporty character.

Meanwhile, the new interior of the Hobby Excellent range is colour-coordinated and features new Stilo upholstery paired with a new, warm Pavarotti/Magnolia furniture finish. The spacious wall units above the seating area also now feature soft-close mechanisms.

The new furniture design in the Prestige provides even more storage space in the 2021 season and the wall units have larger doors. All have built-in soft-close mechanisms. The Taiga upholstery combination also fits in beautifully with the redesigned furniture finish.
