Caravan Guard announces Great Yorkshire Bike Ride sponsorship
In the build up to the Tour de Yorkshire, Caravan insurance specialist, Caravan Guard, announced its support of a local charity bike ride.
The Halifax-based insurer is supporting the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride charity event.
Caravan Guard has 11 team members for the ride and aim to raise over £5,000 for charities in Yorkshire. Also, the company is sponsoring the Bike Ride. Caravan Guard has raised over £53,000 in the last six years.
Peter Wilby, Caravan Guard's chairman, has a silver anniversary to celebrate too. This is the 25th time he will have taken part in the ride.
The ride is 70 miles (ca. 113 km) long, starts in Wetherby racecourse, takes in the Yorkshire Wolds and finishes in Filey. The event happens on 15th June.
This is the 36th year of the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride. The charity event has raised £2.8 million for well-known UK charities. The organisers want to reach £3 million in raised funds this year.
