Best Luxury Caravan 2026

Buccaneer Starliner Barracuda

Our winner in this category is a star in its class in both name and nature – for a number of reasons. But nonetheless the judges had an arduous task in separating the Barracuda from the superb new Coachman Lusso II that eventually made it to the runner-up spot.

Both won the judges’ praise – predictably – for their high level of equipment, for their superlative luxury ambience – and also for the way in which these two models have been elevated for 2026 in providing enhanced payload.

That’s super-important in terms of the level of equipment that arrives as standard on caravans in this class and the amount of payload left for owners to add in additional kit.

Buccaneer has answered the increased payload need by unveiling, for 2026, two ranges within the Buccaneer brand, Starliner and Skyliner. Starliner models have uprated chassis, creating, in the Barracuda, a payload of 328kg; that’s the difference between the MTPLM of 2,250kg and the MIRO of 1,922kg. (The payload on 2025 Barracudas is 160kg.)

The Starliner Barracuda comes with air-conditioning, a mattress of enhanced quality – and televisions in both the bedroom and the lounge.

Though the Starliner Barracuda takes the title, its close-runner second-placed Coachman Lusso II also deserves heaps of praise for its uprated chassis and for its high level of luxury and its sophisticated ambience. The 2026 Lusso II also has air-conditioning as standard, and, like the Barracuda, comes with an automatic self-levelling system.

Coachman Lusso II

And the Lusso II – the twin-axle, double bed model in the Lusso range, has achieved an accolade quite apart from its runner-up place in our awards.

The Lusso II is now Coachman’s best-selling model. When you consider its price tag – which it shares with its twin-bed sibling – of £53,240 – the Lusso II is proof that there is a strong appetite for caravans at the top of the price spectrum.
