Destination of the Month: Edinburgh Christmas Market
Head to Scotland in your caravan for a festive, shopping-filled break that's sure to warm you up — with the help of a wee dram of the good stuff!
Words by Clare Kelly
From 16 November until 4 January, you can eat, drink and be merry at the city’s premier Christmas market that takes place in East Princes Street Gardens. As you’d expect, there’s an abundance of seasonal food and tipples to tickle your fancy.
Funfair rides will be popular with the kids and all members of the family will love the big wheel with its spectacular views of the city. Take a trip back to childhood on the carousel.
The lights are magical in the evenings and if they don’t make you feel festive, nothing will!
New for this year will be the ‘silent disco’ if you’re partial to throwing a few moves to embarrass the rest of your gang.
For more grown-up fun, the Johnnie Walker Bothy Bar on the mound is the place to go to warm up with a hot toddy or have a whisky cocktail. Meet you there? It’s your round.
