Campsite of the Month: Black Rock
See also: Caravan campsite of the month
For many of us, The Highlands is a really, really long way away and you’ll want to be sure that you pick a good site so you’re not stressed out on arrival. Black Rock is one such site, very much aimed at families – it offers plenty to do but doesn’t have a bar that can make sites a little noisy!
The adventure playground keeps children busy and if you’re taking a van, you’re welcome to bring your pet, too. Those who visit comment on the friendliness of staff and have found that whatever the situation, there’s normally help at hand.
The site is located in the village of Evanton where you’ll find a shop that’s open 7 days a week plus a pub, The Novar Arms, where guests can redeem a 10 per cent discount on their food bill.
If walking is your thing, you’re spoiled for choice so don’t forget to pack those walking boots. And a flask. Of local Whisky. Why? Nearby Inverness is the home of several world-leading distilleries.
