Trewan Hall has been in the same family for over 50 years and it's a rather special place to pitch up with your caravan

Campsite location

The campsite is set among the woods, gardens and grounds of a seventeenth century manor house on the north Cornish coast between Newquay and Padstow.

It is close to the sweeping beaches of the north coast and a short drive off the A30.

About the campsite

Kids are well catered for here. The grounds open out onto a large lawn perfect for ball games and the 25-metre heated swimming pool can be open-air or covered by an inflatable dome on cold days.

One of the converted barns has evening entertainment in high season, and for youngsters there are indoor and outdoor play areas as well as the vintage tractor, Thelma, that trundles around the site with excited children on board.

The well-stocked campsite shop sells snacks and fresh bread and cakes, as well as groceries and a range of camping essentials you might have forgotten. In the modern amenities block there are toilets and showers, with baths, and a wetsuit wash area. Trewan Hall is just a short walk from St Columb Major, a historic market town, where you will find a range of shops and pubs.

Trewan Hall

A little further away is the lively seaside resort of Newquay which has a harbour, lots of sandy beaches, a zoo, plenty of little shops, boats for hire, sea fishing and more.

There are countless beaches and coves across this part of Cornwall, including Towan, Great Western, Porth, Holywell Bay and Tolcarne (for families, especially), Polly Joke (rockpools and caves), Mawgan Porth (swimming, family surfing, etc), and two-mile-long Perranporth, with its seawater pool.

Port Isaac is a fishing village with whitewashed cottages - you might recognise it as the location for the Doc Martin TV series.
