Full Review
If you want a peaceful location in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, then a visit to the Cotswold Farm Park fits the bill. It was developed by Adam Henson, the Countryfile presenter and owner of the rare breeds farm park.
The campsite is in a peaceful setting with large pitches which are a mixture of hardstanding gravel with electric, water and waste drain; grass pitches with electric, and grass with no electric. These can accommodate motorhomes, caravans and tents. The electric provided is 10A. The campsite also has camping pods and safari tents with their own toilet and shower facilities.
On the campsite at night there is minimal lighting, allowing for dark skies. Included in the pitch price is unlimited access to the farm park next door for the whole of your stay.
The amenities block houses the usual toilets and showers, but both men and ladies have an accessible/family shower room.
The water for the showers comes from the local spring and the campsite’s own borehole. These are the push-button variety to conserve water usage. For anyone travelling with children, in the female facilities you'll find a baby changing unit that includes a baby bath and a little step by the sinks to allow small children to reach.
There is also a communal kitchen on the campsite with a large fridge, freezer and labels provided to identify your food. The washing-up area is separate, while a laundry has one machine and a dryer.
Attached to the Ox Shed restaurant at the farm park entrance is a small shop for bread, milk, sausages, bacon and some small camping accessories. The nearest supermarket is Tesco in Stow-on-the-Wold which is approximately six miles away.
From the campsite there are lots of country walks and cycle routes to enjoy. Within easy driving are the pretty villages of Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water, and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire steam railway which runs from Cheltenham to Broadway.
Rallies are welcome at Cotswold Farm Park, either on the main touring campsite or a designated non-electric field for which the wardens erect a tent for group get-togethers.
