Full Review
David, the friendly owner, gave us a warm welcome and reception has a great DVD and game library and even a book swap for those rainy days.
The facilities at Bunroy Park are top-notch with super clean amenities, hot showers that never run out, and free washing-up products. There’s also a laundry room with a washing machine, dryer and fridge/freezer.
There’s 19 hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, grassy tent pitches, four furnished log pods and eight luxury lodges. Birdsong serenades you and you may even spot a black rabbit or a red squirrel as you walk alongside the river through shady woodlands at the bottom of the campsite.
The village of Roy Bridge is just a short walk along the lane and has two pubs, The Stronlossit Inn and The Roy Bridge Hotel (they do takeaways), and also a café serving delightful home-cooked goodies. The Commando Memorial is just five minutes away and gives an awe-inspiring view of Ben Nevis.
The Roy Bridge train station is within walking distance and can get you to Perth, Glasgow and Fort William. In Fort William, hop onto The Jacobite, the famous steam train which runs over the Glenfinnan Viaduct to Mallaig on the West Highland Line – a journey truly deserving of its inclusion on the list of the 10 greatest railway journeys in the world.
I have to mention that you will need to grit your teeth to negotiate the lumpy-bumpy lane and humpback railway bridge that leads to the campsite but the upkeep of this short 300-yard stretch is not the responsibility of the owners of this delightful campsite – if it were then for sure it would be like everything else there and tickety-boo!

Our Verdict
Great for exploring the Scottish Highlands and for easy access to Fort William – one of the main tourist towns of the Highlands. A hop onto The Jacobite steam train is a must-do, for fantastic views of the countryside.
