Flaxton Meadows

Guests at Flaxton Meadows have a range of accommodation to choose from including: handcrafted luxury log cabins, touring and motorhome pitches (hardstanding and grass) with natural screening and electric. Whether you are bringing a touring caravan, motorhome or campervan, Flaxton Meadows offers spacious hardstanding or grass pitches. Your pitch will have access to electricity generated from the onsite natural resource system and water. 

Getting back to nature, sleeping under the stars, the tranquil setting of Flaxton Meadows means you can enjoy the sounds of nature and witness wildlife all around.

All guests can enjoy use of the state of the art washroom and toilets with thermostatically controlled hot water and underfloor heating utilising natural resources generated onsite. The roof of the washroom has a large overhang, which provides a sheltered walkway around the facility. The roof also provides shading for windows in the summer and shelter for the facility in adverse weather. Air circulates beneath the roof to give the facility natural ventilation and provides a thermal circulation system to generate a constant air temperature.

Shower controls are child friendly and the facilities are fully accessible. There are shaving points, hair dryers and hand dryers. Access to the washroom and toilet facilities is 24 hours a day.

The aim and policy of Flaxton Meadows eco campsite is to provide a low carbon footprint environment for eco-conscious guests to stay and enjoy. Every component of the design has considered the impact on the environment both short and long term. No expense has been spared in creating what the owners would like to become an environmental legacy and benchmark for others to follow. Building materials have been sourced from either high quality recycled products such as the oak beams in the Champers for Campers bar or they have been sourced locally from sustainable sources. All materials are fully traceable from source.

Launderette - the low energy/water consumption laundrette is available to all guests. As with all Flaxton Meadows features the appliances are ecologically considerate with minimal impact to the environment. The electricity utilised for the appliances is generated onsite via solar panels and the water used is filtered and recycled on the grounds. Access to the laundrette is 24 hours a day.

Nature trail - the site is fortunate to have an abundance of flora and fauna so there is a lovely nature trail for nature lovers to enjoy. With educational information boards guests can learn about the variety of wildlife, trees and flowers.

You can also challenge yourself to find all the nest boxes that have been placed in partnership with Natural England for owls, bats and different species of birds. You may even find a hedgehog house or woodpecker hole. For the keen naturalist there are webcams in a selection of the nest boxes so guests can tune in to view activity via the campsite app.

Pets - Flaxton Meadows welcomes small dogs onsite. You are responsible for your pet’s behaviour. Please make sure your pet is under control at all times. Dogs must be kept on a secure lead, no more than two metres long.
