Smytham Manor is a peaceful place. Set in parkland and surrounded by fields, this is a lovely place to relax and get away from it all, whilst still benefitting from a host of facilities on the campsite, and many attractions within easy reach.
The camping and touring pitches are set in the grounds of the old manor house where there is plenty of space for children to play safely and for adults to enjoy their holiday. There are a variety of pitches available, with hook-ups and tents can be pitched in the Old Walled Garden which provides shelter and easy access to the outdoor pool.
And what a nice little pool it is. With its terraced setting it feels safe and secluded and the views across the Devon countryside are lovely. There's seating and loungers for you to use and enjoy the sun too.
As well as the usual facilities you would expect from a campsite, there's also a small shop, a bar (open in high season) with pool table and outside seating. For a bit of activity there is an outdoor play area, complete with swings and slide and a putting green. When the weather is less favourable for you to enjoy the lovely expanse of this parkland setting, there's a games room housed in a wooden building, that has several pool tables, table tennis and table football.
For those that prefer a touch of luxury, or who want to bring friends or family along to stay, there are three log cabins available to hire. Each is situated in their own area of Smytham and with their own verandah with hot tub, outside furniture and barbecue. The cabins come complete with everything you need for your holiday and sleep up to six people in three bedrooms.
Because of the parkland at this campsite, it is perfect for walking or cycling enthusiasts and the Tarka Trail can be accessed directly from the campsite. Attractions in the area include some great sandy beaches, the pretty village of Clovelly, zoos and farm parks ... the list is endless!
