This lovely campsite has large, fully-serviced pitches, hedged with flowers and shrubs... the view from ours was like a painting, hedged with bracken overlooking patchwork farmland. The pitches are mostly level and many have electric hook-ups. In addition there are individually screened hardstanding caravan pitches with drainage and electric/water hook-ups, with some offering a TV point.
The shower and toilets are very clean with facilities for disabled people, plus private family bathrooms which can be hired and a laundry. The dishwashing area is undercover and for campers there's a kitchen with microwave and freezer.
Families are well-catered for here with plenty of things to see and do, including golf and badminton and a chance for children to meet the farm animals – tractor rides are a great favourite, too!
We visited nearby Bude with its stunning beaches and shops and cafes, where we stopped for Cornish pasties and cream teas. Also, a steep walk through the village of Poughill (pub halfway) is the beach café where you can sit and watch the surfers or walk across fabulous cliff tops to town. A car park is provided.
One of the highlights of our week’s visit was a trip to Lanhydrock House near Bodmin. 50 rooms full of period character and atmosphere, with a chance to take a vintage car ride around the stunning gardens. The other famous treasure is the Eden Project near St Austell, with exotic plant life and many interactive projects.
If you are looking for a fishing holiday in Cornwall, Wooda Farm has a well-stocked coarse fishing lake too. It is stocked with tench, mirror and common carp along with golden orf. Fishing is for residents only which means you can be sure of a peaceful spot and no overcrowding.
