Details

Embrace Mother Nature in this rugged, natural setting nestled among mature woodland and a grassy glade surrounded by water on three sides. With limited facilities and none of the trappings of more commercial campsites, you’ll be able camp out under the stars, hang a hammock from the trees and enjoy an open fire in a fire pit.

What we mean by almost wild camping...

  • Solar powered, motion sensor lights around the toilets limit light pollution
  • Composting toilets
  • Cold water tap

Our pitches are spacious. Each riverside pitch can take approximately three two-person tents plus a permanent fire pit. Woodland pitches differ due to the size of glades they’re located in and if camping in a hammock.

Onsite there is a pre pitched safari tent for anyone without their own kit - sleeps five.

Campfires are encouraged throughout the campsite but only in the fire pits provided, seasoned logs can be purchased from the site and ordered at time of booking so they’ll be there waiting for you when you arrive.

You’re allowed to fish from the river banks surrounding the campsite as long as you hold the appropriate Environment Agency rod licence.

A parade of shops is located about one mile away from the site in Broxbourne. This includes a bakers, butchers, off licence, pharmacy and small supermarket.

There is a canoe launching point at the site. You can either bring your own canoe or hire one locally from Lee Valley Canoe Cycle at Broxbourne Old Mill & Meadows.
