If you are looking for a relaxing break, there is no better place to spend your holiday than the South Hams in South Devon with so many glorious beaches to choose from just a short drive away to enjoy boating, surfing or just paddling and laying in the sun.

A plethora of quaint seaside villages and market towns are within easy reach.  Described by many as a hidden gem, and without a Clubhouse,  Pennymoor Caravan and Camping Park is one of the most popular destinations in the area. Visitors have been returning year after year to Pennymoor, favouring a Park where the same family have owned and run it on a day-to-day basis since 1935.  It is with pride that we are celebrating 85 years of welcoming visitors and ensuring they have a relaxed and peaceful holiday. Indeed, the last visitors to arrive at Pennymoor are just as important as the first visitor of the season.

Pennymoor is situated in a rural location with panoramic views of Dartmoor and is just a short drive away from so many places of interest which makes its central location an ideal base for your holiday with your touring caravan, tent, motorhome or alternatively,  you could hire one of our luxury home-from-home Holiday Caravans.  Proving to be extremely popular is our three bedroomed Lavender Lodge with large decked area, ideal for alfresco dining.

Our fleet of two and three bedroomed holiday caravans are very well equipped, each having everything you need to make it a “home from home”.  Most caravans are pet free but some are reserved for well-behaved pets and their owners.  If you would like to hire a holiday caravan, or reserve a camping pitch give us a call,  when we can discuss your individual requirements.  If you are thinking of purchasing your own holiday home, we have a vacant site available for a new holiday home.

Pennymoor offers plenty of space for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, with large pitches and facilities to ensure you have a stress free and enjoyable stay. Also available are hardstanding pitches, service points, motorhome service point, and electric hook-ups.

The equipped children’s play area comprises see-saw, swings, roundabout, “witches hat”,  bouncy horse and elephant and an outdoor table tennis table.  Picnic benches surround the play area.

An extremely clean amenities block with baby changing stations, hair dryer and undercover dish washing facilities and laundry are also available, including a separate shower room and toilet equipped for the disabled.  Hot water is free in the showers, handbasins and dishwashing areas.  Dogs are very welcome at Pennymoor as long as they are kept on a lead. There are dog waste bins positioned near the dedicated  dog exercising area where they are free to run.

Pennymoor Café and Store, run by Mike and Jo, offers take-away meals and breakfasts, pasties, sausage rolls, toasted sandwiches and a host of other refreshments.  Favourites are the Curry nights, Pizza nights and fish & chip nights.  Also stocked are essential grocery items, confectionery and toiletries all at competitive prices. Newspapers can also be ordered and a freezer is available for your ice-packs.

Do not be fooled by the rural position of Pennymoor; A short drive of 6 miles and you will find yourself at Bigbury-on-Sea and Burgh Island where Agatha Christie famously wrote two of her novels. Other beaches within a short distance are Mothecombe, Wonwell, Bantham, Thurlestone and Hope Cove to name but a few. Surfing, kayaking and SUP lessons are available with Discovery Surf School at Bigbury, so if you fancy trying out your skills, give them a call. Boat hire is available at Salcombe or you can launch your own. A visit to this lovely town is a must.

Dartmoor National Park is a 30-40 minute drive inland. Its wild rugged landscape with huge tors and rocks to climb and explore makes an exciting day out. Try Princetown, Widdicombe-in-the-Moor or Dartmeet.

So, with everthing you could need to make the most of your stay, all you need to do is soak up the tranquil atmosphere whilst enjoying the breathtaking views and sunsets.
