Details

Located fourteen miles north of Ashbourne on the A515 heading to Buxton, Bank House is in Hulme End, roughly 10 miles south of Buxton. This makes it an ideal base for exploring Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

The campsite's hardstanding and grassed pitches (with electric hook-ups and some fully serviced) are set alongside the river and are wonderfully rural and tranquil. Facilities include a toilet block with hot showers, hairdrying and shaver points, plus washing-up facilities.

Many attractions are nearby, ranging from Alton Towers and Abraham Heights, to the more laid-back delights of Chatsworth House and the Tissington Trail. And after a hard day's relaxing, why not sample the Manifold Inn next to the site?

The key point about the site is that it is not only set in wonderful scenery, but is also an ideal base for visiting a diverse range of attractions. For family fun look no further than Alton Towers, a massive theme park set within the grounds of a former castle.

At the opposite end of the tourist-attraction scale, also near the site is Chatsworth House, the impressive home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire that is set in glorious Peak District scenery. This is good walking country, too, with the Tissington Trail running close to the site. The romantic charm of Dove Dale can also be found near the site, but be warned this can get quite congested in the summer months and it would be best to walk there from the site.
