Details
Thacka Lea Caravan Park has been a family-run business for over fifty years! The park has 25 pitches. Pitches are available on hardstandings and grass, each with electric hook-ups. The park is over three tiers, each is easily accessible to the toilet and shower block which is located on the middle tier. They accept dogs at £1 per stay.
The campsite is located at the north end of the small market town of Penrith, a 10-minute walk to the town centre and easily accessible to the M6 and A66. Within the town there are many traditional and specialist food, clothing and gift shops as well as many cafés, restaurants and pubs. The museum and castle give a great insight into the history of Penrith. Penrith has many leisure and sporting facilities to offer as well as good bus and rail transport links for days out around Cumbria. There is a train station within a mile of the caravan park (Penrith North Lakes station).
Ullswater, only six miles away, is the second largest and one of the most beautiful lakes in the Lake District. Other nearby lakes, towns and villages within the Lake District National Park and Eden Valley can be easily visited.
Thacka Lea is located directly on the west to east coast to coast cycle route, it passes the campsite’s gateway! Thacka Lea Caravan Park is a great stopover when cycling the C2C or visiting the northern Lake District.
