Introduction to Cosawes Park

Peaceful Cosawes, an adults-only site since March 2022, is tucked away in an idyllic wooded valley between Truro and Falmouth. Despite being close to the A39, there’s no audible road noise, only the sound of birdsong from the surrounding woodland.

It's a beautiful and tranquil spot in which to spend time admiring nature.

What the campsite has to offer

The campsite boasts a laundry room, communal fridge/freezer, book and jigsaw swap, tourist information room, and a warm (and spotlessly clean) toilet and shower block. Showers are located on the first floor, and full accessible facilities are available on the ground floor.

There’s a choice of grass pitches (with or without electric) and hardstanding, fully serviced pitches. Booking directly from the campsite’s own website allows visitors to select the pitch of their choice.

The campsite highlight for us was the dog exercise field across the lane from the main campsite, which can quite simply be described as doggy heaven. An enormous area, flanked by mature woodland, the pretty River Kennall meandering through and a collection of benches. It’s a beautiful and tranquil spot in which to spend time admiring nature.

Where to visit

Access to Falmouth and Truro via public transport is easy thanks to a frequent bus service a short walk away. Falmouth is home to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Pendennis Castle, beautiful beaches, eateries and independent shops, as well as boat trips aplenty from the bustling harbour. A visit to the pretty fishing village of St Mawes via ferry from Falmouth is a very pleasant way to spend the day as well.

We enjoyed exploring subtropical Trebah Garden, a 20-minute drive from Cosawes. Ablaze with colour and boasting its own private beach at Polgwidden Cove, it’s a slice of paradise that we really didn’t want to leave!
