Pop-up tents have come a long way over the years. Like many campers, my first Outwell tent was one of the company's classic pop-up models, bought for going to festivals around 20 years ago. It was brilliantly convenient, although perhaps a little basic by today's expectations.. 

We haven't seen this style of tent in the Outwell range for some time, but it's now back in a much more refined form. The Outwell Nexion 3 takes everything that made those original pop-up tents so appealing and combines it with the thoughtful features that have become synonymous with the Outwell name.

Luminous guylines are easier to spot after dark, reducing trip hazards around camp, while the overall build quality feels reassuringly solid for a lightweight weekend tent.

Available in either Forest Green or Ocean Blue, the Nexion range also includes a two-berth version, making it suitable for solo campers and couples who want an even more compact shelter.

Yes, you'll need to spend a few minutes learning how to fold it away, and the lack of standing headroom means it won't suit longer holidays. But for weekend escapes, festivals and spontaneous camping trips, it's difficult to fault.
