OUR VERDICT There’s nothing particularly fancy about this, it’s just a good old-fashioned, great-value tent for couples and younger families.
Camping novices looking for a good quality starter tent that won’t let them down
Now and again, we’re all guilty of over-complicating things. But sometimes it’s more important to just do the simple things well and forget about pushing the boundaries. And that’s exactly what we have here. The Galaxy 400 is not a complicated tent; in fact it’s as straightforward as they come. There’s nothing especially innovative about it – but that’s not a criticism.
Easy Camp have done the simple things well and produced a tent that works brilliantly for first time campers at an excellent price point. For under £200 – and with a bit of searching online you should find it at less than £150 – you get a well-designed poled tunnel tent, that is really easy to pitch, has full standing height throughout and offers generous sleeping and living space for couples and young families. It has front and side doors, a storage pocket, two windows in the porch area plus air vents. At that price, it’s a no-brainer for someone trying camping for the first time
Don’t expect all the bells and whistles, but do expect a well-made tent that provides the camping novice with a great starter tent. And, at the risk of sounding shallow, we really like the warm red colour scheme!
