The Valdes 6XL is aimed squarely at family campers planning longer holidays. Comfortable for up to five people.

WHAT’S IT LIKE?
This is a wide-bodied, inflatable family tunnel tent, with a spacious front porch that extends your living space and really enhances the camping experience. The new expanded porch, the only part of the tent that is supported by traditional poles, is now big enough to provide shelter for outdoor cooking or to expand your living area. Step through the convenient hinged front door and you’ll find yourself in huge main living space. In here, there’s loads of room for a table and chairs and as much camping furniture as you will need. The large PVC windows provide plenty of light during the daytime hours but can be covered up when darkness falls. Ventilation is good and with the high headroom this certainly feels like a spacious and airy tent. The side doors give flexible access and the flat front maximising the floorspace. At the rear, there are three large double bedrooms, all fitted with blackout lining and big enough to accommodate double airbed. One of the double rooms can be dropped completely and removed to create more living or storage space, while the toggle divider between the other two rooms can be removed to create one large sleeping space.

WHAT’S GOOD?
Vast amounts of space in the living area and the newly expanded covered porch provides an additional sheltered area for cooking or al fresco dining. It’s easy to pitch and the blackout bedrooms are brilliant for keeping morning sun at bay, especially for young children.

WHAT COULD BE BETTER?
In all honesty, there’s not a lot that would improve this tent, but if we are going to be picky (we are), there is a bit of a trip hazard at the doors.
