WHO’S IT FOR?
For smaller families or couples looking for extra space. Equally suited for weekends away or longer breaks.

WHAT’S IT LIKE?
The Berghaus collection of inflatable family tents – exclusively available at Millets and Blacks stores – has proven hugely successful since being launched a couple of years ago. Then formula is simple – a mix of good looks, useful features and high quality, at a reasonable price. The new 4 XL model meets all those criteria and fills a gap in the range – a tent aimed at smaller families or couples who are looking for a bit more space and comfort. The tent is quick to pitch and pack away, even for just one person. At the front, the integrated porch is a useful space for cooking and storage and leads into a large, well lit, living area, where you have plenty of room for furniture. This is a bright and airy space thanks to the excellent headroom, panoramic windows and mesh ventilation panels. As well as the main front entrance, there are also two side doors, including one with a rain shelter and there’s a panel of built-in storage pockets for small items. Cable-entry points on both sides of the tent make life much easier if you have an EHU. The bedrooms both have enough space for a double airbed and have darkened material to reduce early morning light. Ventilation is provided by a panel at the back and mesh sections on the doors.

WHAT’S GOOD?
It’s spacious, quick to pitch and excellent quality throughout. The front porch provides useful outdoor living space. It all comes in at a very good price – at the time of writing, the price was reduced to £639, with a further 20% discount taking the price down to £511, making it eminently affordable.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED?
In our view the only serious criticism of this tent is its pack size and weight, but the convenience of pitching and the space it offers make up for that.
