Vango launch 2021 range of tents made from recycled plastic bottles
Vango is launching a new range of environmentally-friendly tents and camping accessories made out of recycled plastic.
And the Scottish-based company is also introducing a new range of heated camping chairs using the award-winning Radiate technology.
The Earth Collection features both AirBeam and poled tents, sleeping bags, chairs and rucksacks, all made using a specially-developed eco-friendly fabric.
Single use plastic is collected, sorted, washed and crushed before being turned into pellets and spun into thread. The thread is then woven into Vango’s Sentinel Eco fabric and used to create the camping gear.
As well as being kind to the environment, the tents also have Nightfall darkened bedrooms, integrated mesh doors, diamond clear windows and Villa Construction, to maximise floorspace.
The collection includes the Joro 450 and 600XL, family tents with built-in front awnings. The 450 features king-size bedrooms and both have large living/dining areas. The 600XL is produced with recycled material that is the equivalent of 261 plastic bottles.
Other tents in the Earth Collection are the Aether (450XL and 600XL) and the Osiris 500. All the tents are available as either poled or inflatable models.
Also new for 2021 are the Valencia II 450, part of the Excel Air collection, the luxurious Soneva Air 450 and the Mokala weekend tent.
The Radiate heated sleeping bag was launched last year and the collection is being expanded in 2021 to include a double and a new red colour scheme. The graphene heat panels are also being introduced to a new range of camping chairs in a selection of different sizes and styles, all with heated lumber areas. A heated lumber support pillow is also available, designed to fit on Vango chairs from previous seasons.
Rob Birrell, Vango’s Marketing Director, said, “The pandemic backdrop has seen more people than ever engage with outdoor activities and explore the opportunities we have right on our doorstep to enjoy nature and the open spaces around us.
“We feel the appetite for staycations is a trend set to continue into next year and beyond, so the team here at Vango wanted to make the collection for 2021 one of our best yet, making getting outdoors as easy and enjoyable as ever.”
