Camping is all about getting closer to nature, but as this video shows, sometimes you can just a little TOO close for comfort!

The incredible footage shows three thirsty lionesses licking water from a tent, early one morning after an overnight downpour. The campers' close encounter with the big cats took place in the Mabuasehube Transfrontier Park, Botswana.

Francie Lubbe posted the video on YouTube and said it was taken in the Khiding Pan campsite, an area in that is (in)famous for frequent visits from lions.

She wrote: "What an experience. We woke up to hear a noise outside the tent. Upon investigation, we found three lionesses outside the tent. The only thing that separated us from them was the net. Danie was the stable cameraman, always cool and calm!"

What an experience indeed... and we bet there was a few medicinal swigs taken from that bottle of whisky afterwards!
