Like much camping gear, the best solution for getting dressed for success is to find something that works for all your needs.

Whether your walking and hiking adventures take you onto the hills, along low-level footpaths or simply to the pub along the road from your campsite, you’ll need the right kind of footwear.

We've put together a selection of some of the brand new shoes and boots that will be available to buy in 2018.

BERGHAUS FELLMASTER GTX/ KANAGA GTX
www.berghaus.co.uk
The new Fellmaster Active GTX (men) and Kanaga GTX (women) shoes are long days in the hills.  Features include 100% waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, four-section sole and flexible nubuck leather uppers.

AKU TENGU LITE GTX
www.aku.it
New from Italian footwear specialist AKU come these super-lightweight boots or shoes, packed with features. Comfort is the key here, and AKU say they can be worn straight out of the box, without any need to wear them in. They are inspired by mountaineering boots, and feature AKU’s Elica Natural Stride System which includes an asymmetric outsole construction for improved load distribution. The waterproof elastic sock and supportive ankle wrapping are also designed to provide more comfort. The Vibram Curcuma sole has a large contact area for grip and better traction on uneven ground.

JACK WOLFSKIN JUNGLE GYM SHOES
www.jack-wolfskin.co.uk
Kids love to climb trees and that’s the thinking behind these new shoes from  Jack Wolfskin. The Jungle Gym has a non-slip sole with special climbing and balance zones, all while keeping the toes protected with the high rubber outsole.  The variety of colours and patterns are all inspired by the animal kingdom.

ASOLO MAGNUM
www.asolo.com
The new Magnum boots are fitted with durable new ‘Ground’ outsoles that combine all-terrain Vibram rubber with what they call ‘wave technology’; a low profile, irregular tread pattern that maintains good surface contact while reducing weight by up to 20%.

VANGO GRIVOLA
www.vango.co.uk
As part of a major revamp of its footwear range, Vango has introduced a new fitting system – featuring the “FootSpy” insole and the instore “FitStick – designed to ensure you buy boots that fit properly. The Grivola hiking boot also features Vango’s FlexBeam chassis, a calibrated midsole and insert that provides flexibility and stability on any terrain.  The upper contains a waterproof sock, to keep your feet dry in wet conditions.

HANWAG TATRA LIGHT GTX
www.hanwag.com
Hanwag is extending its bestselling Tatra collection next year with the Light GTX, aimed at less
extreme terrain and lighter hiking. It features a lower-cut than the original boot to provide more comfort round the ankle, a lightweight suede upper and Gore-Tex lining. The shoe boasts a couple of new innovations - lockable hooks in the lacing system and Lateral Flex Technology (LFX), which provides extra support on the boot's outer edge for better stability.

REGATTA MARINE SPORT
www.regatta.co.uk
The Marine Sport is a sport-inspired lightweight and versatile everyday shoe. The sock-fit and “floating lacing cage” are designed to offer added comfort and a secure fit. The base of the shoe is extremely lightweight and has added traction “pods” for balance, comfort and durability.

VIBRAM FIVEFINGERS V-TREK
www.vibram.com
These hiking shoes might look a touch bizarre (actually there’s no “might” about it!) but they are proven to work – providing a “barefoot” feel without losing out on comfort or stability. The new V-Trek is the flagship of the range for 2018, with a flexible 4mm rubber sole made with a rubber compound designed to provide grip in both wet and dry conditions and on all terrains. The midsole adds a touch of cushioning while the upper is made of 50% wool and 50% synthetic fibres offering breathability and comfort, as well as strength and durability.
