These sites offer up all sorts of different types of luxury accommodation to add a touch of glamour to your camping.

We’re not oposed to roughing it now and again, but there’s nothing better than a few nights of real luxury. And that’s certainly what’s on offer at Concierge Camping, in the West Sussex countryside, where you’ll find can stay in absolutely stunning self-contained safari-style lodges. Made from solid wood and luxury canvas, these lodges set a new standard in glamping. They are luxuriously furnished throughout with fully fitted kitchens including a range cooker, dishwasher and fridge freezer. You can relax in the spacious lounge/diner and keep in touch via the TV and high speed Wi-Fi. Luxury bed linen and towels are also included and the bedroom even has remote controlled blinds and a Bluetooth speaker system. Outside there is a private terrace equipped with seating and a barbecue, which overlooks a beautiful stream. The site itself is absolutely immaculate, with manicured grass and precise walkways. The reception is grand, with some shop items on sale, including beers and wines, charcoal for barbecues etc – all locally sourced. Also here are seating areas where you can have a proper coffee or even a glass of champagne.

For a glamping site with a true wow factor you’d be hard-pushed to top Glampotel’s Dundas Castle near Edinburgh. This is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive places to spend a night in Scotland. With the castle as a magnificent backdrop, each canvas cottage here is situated in its own secluded woodland enclave with views over the loch. A woodburning stove creates a cosy atmosphere and features include hardwood floors, custom wooden furniture and blanket chest. Solar power provides light when you need it and enough USB outlets to charge your electronic devices.

The fens and the Norfolk Broads are a naturalist’s dream and Waveney River Centre is handily located for visiting many of them. There are luxury pods available, with comfy beds, heating, mains electricity and a TV. And last year, the site introduced yurts – complete with a woodburning stove, electric heating, plug sockets and real beds.

Located in nine acres of parkland and surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside, glamping arrived at Dolbeare Park with the introduction of luxury 5m Lotus Belle tents. They come complete with double bed, day bed, garden furniture, a separate kitchen and dining area, barbecue and firepit. The tents are suitable for two adults and two children up to 15 years but also perfect for a romantic week away.  At peak times, you can order freshly made-to-order takeaway food, as well as fresh bread, croissants, bacon and sausage baguettes.

One of 45 Club sites signed up for Ready Camp, with pre-erected canvas tents complete with full beds, sofa and dining area. Moreton site, which also accepts traditional tents, is handily located for exploring the amazing Jurassic Coast. It’s only a short drive from the county town of Dorchester, while Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth aren’t far away either.
