Full Review
Founded in 2006, Dreamer says it set out to make campervans ‘simple, comfortable and accessible’.
Acquired by the Rapido Group in 2014, it’s now celebrating its anniversary with the inevitable special editions – 20 Years models that add extra equipment to the existing D55 Fun, D55 Select and D68 Select, as well as the brand-new D68 Fun.
A proven design
The D55 layout has obviously been a major success for the Rapido Group. It debuted in 2015 and it’s still going strong, both as a Rapido V55 and as a Dreamer.
That success can be attributed to the patented Modul’Space washroom that features a separate shower in a six-metre panel van, giving this derivative of the classic rear bedroom campervan a true USP.
High-spec Select version
As a Select model, this is a premium-spec model (the Fun range is entry-level) and the 20 Years version adds even more kit.
Here, the Smart Pack (16in alloy wheels, leather steering wheel) and LED Assist Pack (full LED headlights, automatic lights and wipers) are included as standard, while the exterior colour is either Artense Grey (shown) or Expedition Grey.
The styling is completed by a black skid plate, flush-fitting framed windows, front fog lamps and red detailing reminiscent of various cars suffixed GTI! There’s more, too.
Tyre pressure monitoring, an electric parking brake, Skyview overcab sunroof, pneumatic reinforcement of the rear suspension, a 150W solar panel, external barbecue point and Truma Combi D 4 diesel heating (with altitude kit) all join the spec. Mains-powered floor heating is also available.
Interior design and layout
Inside, there’s a completely new look with either Eclipse furniture (shown, featuring textured white doors) or Nordic (lighter wood with bronze highlights). The Sonora upholstery seen here is also new, and one of three options.
So, the 20 Years model is not short of spec but the reason to buy is still the design of the washroom. More specifically, the wardrobe uses space in the shower when the latter isn’t in use, then swings out of the way (over the end of the bed) when you want your morning wash.
Thus, you get a separate shower (albeit not a huge one), while folding doors combine this area with the toilet room opposite to create an ablutions/changing area across the full width of the campervan.
The shower even has a shelf on the wall for your shampoo, etc, and a bowed front to create a few vital inches of extra elbow room, while the stylish toilet area has a cassette loo and a smart fixed basin, as well as good countertop space and storage with elasticated straps to secure your potions.
Rear bedroom and garage
At the back of the camper, the bed has claimed dimensions of 1.95m (extending into the side walls of the Ducato) by 1.32m, while another neat bit of design is the extra-deep clothing cupboard at the foot of the mattress on the offside.
It’s a shame that Dreamer didn’t then delete the nearside cupboards because these still stop you sitting up in bed.
However, Dreamer has redesigned the garage space, so you can now slide away half of the bed base to get tall items (bikes, etc) inside.
With a chequerplate floor and a split-level section, this is one of the best-designed garages in the six-metre sector. The gas locker is here, too, as well as the inboard 100-litre fresh water tank.
New improved kitchen
For 2026, the kitchen has also had a total redesign. It still has a huge fridge for a campervan (149-litre capacity), but the new format includes a cutlery drawer that can be reached from outside and a neat chopping board that slots in as a worktop extension.
An oven/grill is also available. Other cosmetic changes include the grooves on the washroom door and side window surround, while extra storage has been found under the automotive-style half-dinette.

Our Verdict
The D55 layout has been around for more than a decade but there’s still nothing quite like it, thanks to that clever washroom. Improved garage storage and a redesigned kitchen makes the latest model even better, while the 20 Years version adds extra standard spec.
