Full Review
Adria is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary this year and, to mark this milestone, it has launched three special edition models – one campervan and two coachbuilt motorhomes.
Here we focus on the only campervan in this anniversary range – the Adria Twin 60 Years Selection.
This unique campervan is based on the best-selling two-berth Twin Supreme 640 SGX. The layout is already familiar to many Adria fans and has proved to be popular throughout Europe with couples looking for a well-equipped two-berth campervan that is just 6.36m long, meaning it is easy to manoeuvre in tight spots and compact enough (it’s just 2.05m wide) to negotiate narrow country lanes.
As it is based on the 3,500kg Fiat Ducato, it can be driven by anyone with a standard car driving licence and, as it has four full belted travel seats, it can be used as a daily family car during the week and a campervan at weekends and holidays.
The highlight of the layout is the rear transverse double bed that can be raised or lowered electrically to create a large garage beneath (large enough for cycles or other bulky gear), which is accessed by double doors. As befitting a special edition model, Adria has fitted this bed with its premium Evopore foam mattress.
Forward of the bedroom is the washroom on the offside and the kitchen on the nearside. The washroom features Adria’s Duplex Bathroom system that utilises a very clever swivel wall system to create a full-sized shower room when needed and then back into a washroom with swivel loo when the shower is no longer needed.
The kitchen opposite is also well equipped and will come with an oven as standard, as well as a two-burner gas hob, sink and compact fridge. There is even a special 60Y chopping board in the kitchen!
The front lounge has a traditional two-seat (both with seatbelts) half-dinette with a new premium wood table with extension and cup holder. This relaxing area is also bathed in light during the daytime thanks to the panoramic roof window and, come evening time, the windscreen and cab door blinds can be closed and the controllable lighting system with LED and spotlights comes into its own.
Heating and hot water are courtesy of Webasto’s diesel heating system (even the waste water tank is heated to prevent freezing while touring in the winter), while the standard lithium leisure battery, which saves weight compared to a lead acid battery, provides greater flexibility for those who prefer to stay off-grid.
Other pieces of equipment include a TV holder, a flyscreen on the sliding door, Adria’s Media Nav Pack and Mach app, an electric converter and Fiat’s 140bhp engine coupled at an automatic transmission.
But what really sets this interior apart from that of the standard Twin Supreme 640 SGX is the exclusive Limited Edition 60Y upholstery, textiles and furniture, which are only available in this anniversary model.
On the exterior there is an awning, as well as exterior 60Y graphics that complement Fiat’s metallic Artense Grey exterior paint and which make it instantly recognisable as a special edition model.
Also on the exterior are additional features including 16in bicolour alloy wheels, colour-coded bumpers, a black skid plate and even front fog lights.
Priced at £75,945 this limited edition Twin is already at Adria dealers throughout the UK but is available only in limited numbers.
