Best Fixed Bed Campervan 2026
Bürstner B66 600 C
Bürstner’s stand was the most visited by our judges during October’s Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC. With an all-new range and some exciting innovation in the form of the new Habiton, there was plenty for the team to see – much of it demanding at least consideration for an award!
While motorhomes in the new B66 range all fared well, it was a case of close but no cigar. However, we simply could not ignore the value for money offered by this B66 campervan. It’s priced from just £61,695 and the only significant optional extra offered is the pop-top roof (turning it into a four-berth) for an extra £5,370.
Based on the six-metre Fiat Ducato, the 600 C comes with the 140hp engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox.
It is finished in Lanzarote Grey and has 16in alloy wheels, flush-fitting framed habitation windows, an overcab sunroof and colour-coded bumper with front fog lamps. Even the roll-out awning is part of the spec.
In the cab, you get a leather steering wheel and a 7in Pioneer multimedia unit with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and reversing camera.
Automatic lights and wipers, ESP, Traction Plus, Hill Holder, stop/start, fatigue detection, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition are all included, too, so you won’t be wishing you could tick boxes for extra features. You can, however, choose from three different colours for the faux leather upholstery.
The layout is the Euro classic, with a good-sized locker (1.40m by 92cm) for your outdoor gear under the rear bed. There are no hard-to-reach cupboard or drawers here and you simply lift out the central section of slatted bed base for bikes or other tall items to be accommodated. Lashing points allow you to safely secure heavier gear.
Inside, the bedroom benefits from a window on the nearside and movable reading lights. With no tall furniture along the offside, the through-view to the back creates a greater feeling of space, while the kitchen has plenty of worktop without adding a flimsy flap.
There’s even an oven (often omitted in this type of campervan), while the 84-litre compressor fridge is mounted at the front of the unit so that it can also be accessed easily when you’re enjoying a barbecue outside. The washroom is a good-sized space with a swing-wall that quickly turns it into a practical shower with no clingy curtain.
Even the half-dinette lounge is better than some as the shape of the table leg makes sitting down easier. Completing this great-value campervan are Truma’s 6kW gas/electric Combi boiler, Isofix on the half-dinette and a flyscreen for the sliding door.

Bailey Endurance E65
Bailey’s latest Transit campervan is certainly the best vehicle yet to emerge from the Bristol factory. It looks bold, exciting and yet, with a £69,999 price tag, it seems very well priced, too.
The European-style rear transverse bed layout here has been refined to the nth degree, with chequerplate flooring and accessible storage in the garage, while the bed is easy to fold for even greater space.
Then there’s a chaise longue position for the mattress that’s almost worthy of an award on its own. We’ve seen Bailey’s space-saving washroom before but here it is vital in creating extra space around the galley.
Highly commended
Hymer Redwood 601
The Redwood replaces the previous Free, based on the six-metre Fiat Ducato. It has a transverse double bed that splits (mattresses roll up) for simple extra garage space, while high-quality fabric walls in the bedroom increase comfort and a slide-out step aids access.
The top lockers are lined to stop rattles and the Travel Lounge seating will be appreciated by rear passengers. The slate finish in the washroom is mated to a neat swing-wall shower.
But despite all these refinements, this metallic blue Sport model with black alloys starts from only £66,620.
