National Picnic Week runs from 17-25 June this year and, for the most part, it looks like the UK’s weather might even agree!

If you’re hoping to celebrate the summer's arrival by setting up in a peaceful spot for a relaxing picnic this week, here’s some picnicware and outdoor dining accessories that’ll perhaps set you up for your best picnic yet…

Berry excited to go on your next picnic? OK, we agree that was a bit rubbish. To be fair, we would be 'berry' excited to go on a picnic with this strawberry-print picnic blanket. This square, waterproof-backed picnic rug measures 150cm by 150cm, fastens together easily and features carry handles for easy transport.

Lincolnshire-based designer, Sophie Allport, is known for her delicate, classic designs and the new Rose collection, inspired by Sophie’s own rose garden, could be the perfect addition to a good old British picnic this summer. Featuring crisp white roses against a sage-green background, the 100% melamine range includes a bowl, side plate, dinner plate and beaker, which are all dishwasher safe.

Super Sparrow Explore

Super Sparrow Explore

Available in 350ml, 500ml and 750ml sizes, and in a variety of pattens depicting different outdoor activities (we chose one with a hiker), the new Explore range from Super Sparrow is made from premium food-grade stainless steel. Its new construction is claimed to reduce weight by 25% (great when hiking, appropriately), and yet, despite weighing just 337g, it can keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours and your cappuccino suitably hot for half as long. We’ve gone for the version with the straw lid, which is super-easy to drink from when you’re in a hurry and have just one hand free. The hook handle on the lid makes it easy to carry if you’re not using a rucksack, too. All in all, a great addition to our gear.

Small enough to fit between the front seats in a campervan or motorhome or inside a normal car, it’s now got a 13-litre capacity and is large enough to hold 20 drink cans, along with a detachable cup holder and a hidden storage compartment to stash your valuables. The handy shoulder strap means it’s easy enough to carry around, too.

Easy Camp Camp Shelter

One thing you can never be sure of in Britain is the weather – even the sunniest morning can quickly turn into the drizzliest afternoon. But don’t let that stop you enjoying a family picnic! Simply pop up a shelter and hey presto, let the picnic continue! We love the versatility of the new Camp Shelter from Scandi brand, Easy Camp, which has taken the beloved gazebo and added a waterproof rear tent that can be used for storage, or even a little snooze. Made from PU-coated polyester, the Camp Shelter weighs 12kg and packs down to a transportable 66cm by 22cm. Detach the six-person rear tent and the shelter provides the perfect picnic spot for inclement weather.

Take your picnic to new icy-cool heights with the EcoFlow Glacier, which claims to be the world’s first portable fridge/freezer with a built-in ice maker and 298Wh plug-in battery. It delivers up to 40 hours of refrigeration and 19 hours of freezing on a single charge, and is said to produce 18 ice cubes in 12 minutes – impressive. But all that must come at a cost when it comes to transporting your bevvies around, right? Actually, not so much – the Glacier has two handles and wheels for easy portability, and measures 84.5cm by 38.5cm by 44.5cm, handles and wheels included, but it does weigh in at just over 23kg so factor that in if you’ve got payload to consider.
