Carado has built up a strong reputation for building no-nonsense, practical and extremely well-made motorhomes. So much so that, along with sister brand, Sunlight, (whose vehicles are identical in design but different in décor), it dominates its class on the German market. And, while the marque was, until recently, under-represented in the UK, it now has seven retailers around the country, including some major names.
Carado has recently joined the van conversion market with its Vlow range, which consists of four models. Building on the success of the Vlow campervan, the 2019 season sees the introduction of the Unlimited range. This means that high specification comes as standard, with things like a 130bhp engine and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Unlimited range is also fitted with the Chassis Pack, which gives you

Of the four Vlow Unlimited campervans, the 640 is the largest model at 6.36m in length. It’s a two-berth model featuring a lengthways bed in the rear. The option of a third birth is available, and it comes with four belted travel seats.
The washroom is located ahead of the bed, on the nearside, and features a fixed washbasin with integrated shower, a cassette toilet, flush fitting LED spotlights and a roof light with fly screen.
Hot water and heating is courtesy of a Truma Combi 4 system, powered by 11kg gas bottles (the gas locker has room for two bottles). There’s a 100-litre fresh water tank and a 90-litre waste water tank.
Opposite the washroom is the kitchen, which is of standard campervan fettle with a two-burner hob with a glass lid and a 90-litre compressor fridge. You also get soft-close drawers and a spice shelf.
The front lounge area features a dinette with seating for two on a forward-facing bench; swiveled captain’s chairs provide two more seats. The panoramic roof light here (with fly screen and blinds) ensures the space is light and airy.
Throughout the campervan, you’ll also find double glazed, hinged windows with cassette blinds and flyscreens. Other features include a 95Ah leisure battery, and rear storage space with four integrated lashing rings.
