THE pop-top is not a new concept for Trigano, but the Silver is. Silver will be brought into the UK with all the right specification, replacing the niche market that the Trigano Rubis occupies.
The name Silver comes from the slightly grey side panels, emphasised by white, turquoise and grey graphics. Smoothly moulded front and rear panels complete the look.
Silver has the same layouts that Rubis offered, including this 420. Its rear kitchen and washroom are directly by the door. Just forward of this is a dinette for four with storage opposite.
The whole front end of the caravan is taken up by a fixed double bed. The strong steel frame lifts up on gas struts for access to the storage area underneath.
The kitchen has a three-burner gas hob with grill, a stainless steel sink and a compact fridge. The washroom has loads of room, with a sink, manual flush toilet and a shower can be fitted as an option.
Eye-level lockers are surprisingly spacious, sitting just below the roofline. The roof is easily pushed up or folded down and has air vents and windows for a little more light.
So why buy a pop-top? Well, they are lower and can be stored away in a garage. They are more stable on the road and they are generally lighter than your average caravan.
Standard UK equipment on the Silver includes shock absorbers, double glazed windows, flyscreens, stable-style door, 72-litre fridge, mains sockets and an awning light.
