THE Sprite may be the cheapest of this assembled group, but don’t assume from this that it’s nasty.
If you’re of a certain age you’ll know that in a previous incarnation the Sprite brand used to be synonymous with low budget caravanning. However, while this Swift Group offshoot still offers budget ‘vans, they’re far from the stripped-out models they used to be. Aside from a 100-litre fridge/freezer and excellent cooking facilities, there are plenty of smaller touches such as domestic quality fittings, removable carpets and an awning light to encourage you to look more closely.
But all this pales into insignificance when you look at the layout, which is
rather unusual for such a small (and cheap) ’van. At the back there’s a fixed bed with a toilet and shower cubicle in the corner; the basin sits separately outside the washroom. While this may be a relatively inefficient use of space, if there are just two people staying in the ‘van it’s a good solution. That’s because the conventionally arranged lounge, with two sofas opposite each other, offers plenty of space for eating and relaxing. There’s even ample space in the galley; when you take all this into account, this is one of the best-value ’vans currently on offer.
