These end washroom motorhomes were popular a decade ago and they still appeal to those who want a luxurious washroom with a separate shower and room to get changed in. But, to squeeze in this large washroom, compromises have to be made elsewhere so ensure you check that you're happy with the kitchen and lounge space.At a glance
The pro and cons of an end washroom layout are:
- A separate place to get changed in
- Plush, home-like comfort
- The space taken by the washroom means there can be too many compromises in the rest of the vehicle for many

The rear washroom layout was very popular in the early 2000's, with cavernous washrooms offering every home luxury on the ablutions front
However this layout has fallen out of fashion, with even previously die-hard fan Swift shying away from making them in favour of fixed-bed designs.The problem is that, depending on the size of motorhome, end washrooms will end up taking a vast proportion of the living space, resulting in far too many compromises elsewhere.
Small lounges, lack of on-board storage space and kitchens with limited facilities and worktops can result, all at the cost of a slightly more comfortable washroom, an area where you spend a very small portion of your day.
On the plus side, who doesn't like a plush, comfortable area in which to get ready in the morning?
And, with these motorhomes, there's no need to use campsite facilities at all - with a separate shower cubicle on board, you've got a place away from your travelling companions in which to pamper and get changed in private comfort.
