A residential park with no minimum age restriction
Plans have been unveiled to increase the number of residential park homes at Morn Gate Park near Dorchester, Dorset.
Unusually, there are currently a dozen park homes and around 30 holiday caravans and leisure lodges (half available for hire) on the estate, which has a 12-month licence. Holiday plots fees are £3,500-£4,000 per year with caravans licensed for 10 years and lodges for 15.
This park is also unusual in having no minimum age for residential park-home owners, who pay £225.33 per calendar month for their plots. So young couples and even those with children are welcome.
A 42x20 Pathfinder show home for residential use is on offer priced at £190,000. There are also vacant plots available for twin units with guideline prices starting at less than £200,000.
Morn Gate lies three miles to the west of Dorchester on the A35. Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast are only 15 minutes’ drive away.
Eventually the park will change from mixed park and holiday-home use into a fully residential estate. The infrastructure is already being upgraded in preparation. There is a resident manager and some pets are allowed.
